Before the opening kickoff, a lot of people had already made up their minds about the Bad Bunny half time show. Some were choosing to love it. Others were choosing to boycott it. The performance almost didn’t matter.
When we decide in advance, we start looking for proof that we were right instead of trying to understand what’s actually in front of us. That’s why we don’t fall in love with a house we are looking to buy. Once your mind is made up, you’re no longer analyzing… just defending a position.
That’s the discipline in real due diligence, especially when you don’t have a dog in the fight. Only advocate for the evidence.
And whether I personally liked the Super Bowl halftime show or not, I will just keep that to myself, as I really like Michael Jordan‘s line about staying out of politics, “because Republicans buy shoes too.“
